[Resolved] Changing equipped items during combat
« on: May 10, 2017, 09:24:56 PM »
(v16, linux)

  • If you put off an item from the active hand in inventory (the one which was currently on hand), regardless if you put anything else in that spot or not, the game will then switch to HtH when coming back to the battle.

  • The left bottom interface also doesn't update the buttons from the last item to correspond the HtH or the new item options.

See attached picture: that is after putting off a pistol from the active hand and equipping a trauma kit. Notice the reload button there. Reloading fists costs 0 AP.  Uh "Quit fooling around"?:)

But using an extra switch to the fire mode (the last was a shotgun) or throw mode (grenade) will just update the HtH interface to the proper one.

Suggestion: Force the game to keep in the memory the last active hand (by default the first one at the beginning) and update the interface accordingly the item there each time it loads the battle screen?

The same may happen if you throw the last grenade on active hand or drop an item to the floor -> it switches to HtH (which is ok this time) but the last item's buttons can stay there.

Added code to update the buttons when returning from the inventory/character UI.

That will help, indeed. May not solve it though if you throw grenade, it's not done through inventory.

Also, is always switching to HtH regardless which hand was active before feature?
