Dropped guns not always collected

I did a normal Danger Level 3 Cultist map.
The main Cultist (the single tough-guy on the map) had a shotgun.
That shotgun was never collected after the map ended.

Did that city block a few more times.
I didn't get a three-shot sub-machine gun that was fired at me several times, but did get a rifle another cultist had on that map.
Picking up ground loot seems erratic. Perhaps weapons aren't always dropping?

There could potentially be an issue or it could be the way item dropping is handled. When an item drops there's a chance that it will fall somewhere that is not immediately visible, and it will be placed in one of the post mission loot containers. Depending on the number of items that this happens to, either the first, or first and second loot containers will contain these items. If you saw an item being used and have unlocked both of the first 2 containers, and haven't gotten it, there's a problem.

I'll keep an eye on those first two containers then.
(I'm positive I have had guns not collected and succeeded in opening all post-mission loot containers)
