[Resolved] What counts as healing time for injuries?
« on: July 28, 2017, 12:06:39 AM »
(v18, linux, Vi)

First, I'm unsure what or if there is a bug. Seems inconsistent, so I'm posting here, but feel free to move.

What doesn't decrease heal time of an injury:
Surveillance on city map (despite each tic advancing in-game time by 2h)

What decreases heal time:
Repair (1 min repair -> -1 min heal time)
Crafting (1 min craft -> -1 min heal time)
Resting (60 min rest -> -120 min heal time)  --  is this double time conversion right?

Unknown (not implemented cost times yet) :
Battles & Post-Battle stuff

Anything else?

Yep, all right. I'll look at surveillance - do you think it should be?

You don't heal in battles, and no time currently passes post battle (likely will though)

Well, seems we don't heal max HP on surveillance either, so I suppose that's at least consistent. Though feels nonintuitive to me that repair/crafting counts but not surveillance.

Double time reduction is also a kind of strange when you see how much time passed. Perhaps you can add a tip on resting saying that it's double effective. Or, actually, it can function in reverse: time in rest = time healed, but other activities will count as half effective or so (eg. 2h repair -> 1h heal time).

No healing on a mission sounds good, but how it goes with those who stay home?

Will have a look at the home party healing, that really should happen.

Yeah, was just ahead myself.

However, there is inconsistency between MaxHP healing and Injuries: When resting we do it in multiples of hours. It's twice the healing rate per hour, right? But other stuff can last in minutes. Seems the game takes only completed hours within one action into account. So if healing rate is 1 and repair of an item takes 1 hour, will heal 1 MaxHP. However, if I will repair 8 items, but each takes under an hour, say 45 minutes - we won't recover any MaxHP points - despite the time advancing by 6 hours in total. Whereas, all those repairs decrease Injury healing time alright.

The issue with crafting/repairing for less than 1 hour is fixed.

Allies at home now heal when other characters are out on patrol.
